Hi All,

Can anyone recomend a quality starter motor that is suitable for an 84" 351 Windsor that has been stroked to 393ci & runs a C.R of about 10.5:1?
I am also running a manual transmission with a 164 tooth flywheel & a Canton high volume oil pan.

Any advise appreciated.

Regards.

I use a Powermaster XS torque on my 393w and have been very pleased with it. The selonoid is large, but the starter itself is small. The only differences I see with yours is the oil pan and possibly the tranny. I use the stock 69' oil pan and have a toploader.

For a 164 tooth toploader 4 speed tranny:

For a 164 tooth T5:

After reading the descriptions of all, I find that the 2nd choice of each type specifically says they work with bumped out oil pans.
