I have 275/60R15s on 8" steel wheels inside the rear fender wells on my 64...with no issues
look at the inner part of the rear wheel well and see if its flat to the frame rails or has a 2" lip and then the wheel wellI have 275/40R17s on the rear of my '64, also no issues and no modifications required. It is tight, I won't lie. But zero rubbing or clearance issues. I didn't do the build, so I don't know what the offset on the wheels is.
larger brakes is why im using a larger rim plus with all the crap going on we are limited to rim size and with plus tires are an issue also as 15 inch is not as easy to get different profilesyea i forgot i am going to run a 17 inch rim if i go 8 inch wide and 18 inch rim if i go 9.5 inch
yes that would be correct as i have 1'" shorter axel tube on each side so the 4.5" back space on mine should fit nicely may not have to modify inner part of wheel well5" backspacing on my wheels...IIRC
they would probably be fine if nobody ever sat in back or nothing was ever placed in the trunk or there was never any potholes in newyork stateas i anticipated wheel well needs some movement inward
i think you could custom order them but need to have all measurements dead on i know a freind got custom made for his ride they make a 18x9.5 i tried it but it was really close to outsideGray looks way better IMO. Too much contrast with black on chrome If you ask me. I wish they made a 17x9. That’s what my rears are.
