Hey I'm running into some issues with my 68 cougar's c4 transmission. Around a year ago all of a sudden my transmission would not shift into drive after the transmission was nice and warm. I could drive it for a mile or two and then it wouldn't move. Reverse worked perfectly with no issues.

I then rebuilt the transmission completely and the only thing that was wrong was the reverse piston return spring in the front clutch pack was broken in half. Needless to say, I finally got it rebuilt, and put it in the car today.

But I am running into the exact same issue as before. Reverse works perfect. Drive works perfect for 1-2 miles, then it lets go and doesn't move.

Anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

HAs to be a forward clutch issue .
All seals replaced ?
All sealing rings replaced ?
Sealing rings checked in the respective bores they run in before assembling on the stator support ?
Trans air tested on assembly?
Trans endfloat set ok?
