65-66 Mustang = 57.25 inches
67-70 Mustang = 59.25 inches
57-59 Ranchero and station wagon = 57.25 inches
77-81 Versailles = 58.50 inches
1957-64 Ford = 57.25 inches

using the 57in width when originally having the 59 or would it even fit with the leafs? i have to be under the car to know this one! thanks

Probably, I put a 57.25 9" from a '65 Mustang in my '67 Cougar. I am able to fit 275/60s on an 8.5" wheel with plenty of clearance, could probably fit 295/50s.

different backspacing on the wheels will give the same end result.

the slicks I run at the track are 15X10.5 on a 15X7 rim with 6inches of backspacing and they are about 3/4" from hitting the leaf spring, I could run a much wider tire rim and tire if I kept the same backspacing

oh yea duh! sorry i always ask dumb questions i already know the logical ez answer, duh! i wouldnt be moving the leafs! unless i went crites or coil over...sorry for not thinking
