I was kinda also hoping this would turn into one of those things like "you know you're a ******* when.......
Im too new into working on my car to have very many of those, the only thing i got is that i spend my time after school either working on my car or making the money to work on it... instead of doing stupid worthless stuff with my friends.

When you stop everything you are doing and cran your neck to see whats happening when....
1) you hear a car with loud pipes to see if its a hot rod or just a car with a bad muffler
2) you hear squeeling tires to see whos (or whats) burning out.
3) you get sick when you hear squeeling tires and crunhing metal

4) you spend more time and $$ on your car than you spend on (with) your woman...
just a start

You know you're a gearhead when: your den or office (both in my case) is decorated with top fuel blower belts, pistons, connecting rods & other scraps you fish out of the trash cans at NHRA fuel events.

Rick

P.S. Read these in Car Craft - kinda hit close to home.

You know you're a gearhead when you know, first hand, that citrus scented GoJo hand cleaner doesn't taste lemony.

When you keep a tub of GoJo in the shower or the laundry room.
when: As a police officer, you just look for the excuse to pull the guy in the restored classic over, simply to get aqainted with him so he will be inclined to show you his car/engine.

(I know; shame on me, bla bla ba)

That reminds me of this one time when I got together with two other Bronco guys, one of which brought his girlfriend along. So we're all standing in the parking lot checking out the Broncos when this Mustang drives thru with that unmistakeable blower whine. The two guys and me all stopped and follow the Mustang with our eyes-heads turning, while buddy's girlfriend got this dumbfounded look and was like, "Uh, what'd I miss?"
When you drop all of the money you made over summer break (working full time) in one day on parts to swap in a 5 speed in you r old mustang.
AAAAAAHHHHH the gearhead life!!>tipping my head back with a BIG smile

I do all of the above. LOL
when you use an intake manifold engine hoist bracket as a weight to cook bacon. It works good!
When you cut up an old 351C 4V iron intake into pieces and make paperweights out of it.

When you eat Cheerio's for breakfast and take a 36000 rpm grinder and an old Exhaust manifold and grind some into the bowl to provide your daily suppliment of IRON...
