Toploader for sale

I have a Toploader for a 73 Torino for sale. It's a:

RUG BG 2

LA 010430

This is a 31 spline shaft for a 351. This transmission has approximately 83,000 miles on it.

I'm asking $700.00 + shipping.

Thank you

Harry

Re: Toploader for sale

This is a small input unit. The small input transmissions had 28 spline outputs. Not 31.

nope hes right. check out David Keys toploader i.d. page. also Dan Williams has told me there are toploaders that came with big in little out and little in big out. ford did some weird stuff. i had a 72 trans with that weird seat belt light switch that bolted to the sdie of the trans and was activated by the shift rails. i traded the case for a case without it.

Re: Toploader for sale

Yea, it says wide ratio, 31 spline.

Big inputs only came with close ratio units, so that would mean a small input with a big output.

It looks like during the 70's, some of the 351C's came with small input/big output wide ratio transmissions. Weird!

It was toward the end of the toploader production run... and there weren't any high torque FE's being made, anymore... so maybe they were using up some of their old stock!
