Unhappy 1991 F-250 starting problems

I have a 1991-F250 4.9L engine and i cant keep it running. The fuel pump keeps running. It is hard to start and I have to use starting fluid. Once it starts it will spit and sputter then quit running. Was told i may have a bad air intake gasket. Need some advice.

need to test the fuel pressure. even though you can hear the pump doesn't mean its good... just don't go replacing things.

Fuel pressure is a good suggestion. Might try pulling codes from the ECU also.

If the fuel pump stays on after the key is off its the relay and is a 10 dollar part,if you dont disconnect the battery the fuel pump will be damaged.

Youll have to excuse my reference to another post while quoting you FE.... Doesnt this apply to this 1991 f-250? It doesnt fit your criteria of "ford muscle" NOR is it pre 1972?

I am just asking.... thanks in advance for clarification.

Re: 1991 F-250 starting problems

He's not BITCHING about his truck... He's seeking a fix!
Which ummmmm, if I remember correctly, someone on another thread, that someone was NOT seeking a fix, they were only pissed at their ruck and giving up on Ford.

So what's your point grapefruit?

Seek help and get it. Bitch about crap, complain about going away from ford, whining and not asking, I say DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT THEM IN THE ARSKABLE on the way out
