Re: Automatic trans acting up

Something must have went wrong. I got it all back together, and adjusted to specifications. Drove the car on a few test runs and it shifted through the gears fine.

I am now unable to get it into reverse, or park. I raised the rear wheels off the ground, so I could turn them, crawled under the car, removed the shift linkage, and still could not get it into reverse or park.

Do you suppose the sprag fell off the band, or is it unrelated?
Thanks, Joe

Re: Automatic trans acting up

All I can think of is it is possible that one of those little notched pins that the servo(and adjuster) pushes against a notch in the band came off and has jammed up the shifter.

That was my big concern in pulling my servo like I did. It has to be able to go through reverse to shift into park so the jam up may just be reverse.

Re: Automatic trans acting up

thanks, that's my fear, I may have to tear into it, sigh....

This was a supposed rebuilt trans, full of leaks and problems.

If I look on the bright side I am learning something new :-)
