Ugly truck rides again

Alls it took was a new battery, new regulator, new fusible link and a new alternator. The regulator was a preventive thing because my old one was stamped Made in USA and the field terminal was corroded on it. No telling how old that thing is. Stupid me. I popped the fusible link so that was my own fault. I had to go get a new multi meter too. My antique volt meter finally quit on me right when I needed it.

My old battery and the first new battery acted the same. Couldn't run a jump start through them. I popped the caps off the new battery back at Napa and it was not completely filled with water/acid solution from whoever manufactured it. I changed to a different model battery and it was good.

Re: Ugly truck rides again

I finally decided to address my front end rattle with a fair amount of dread. I thought it might be a kingpin bushing going. It was the shock. I ordered a set of shocks which came in yesterday. This morning before the atmosphere caught on fire was install ugly truck shocks day.

Whoever decided to put those studs on the tops of these things needs to be whipped. I had to cut them off with a reciprocating saw to get the shocks out. What should have been an hour job turned into 4. 2 of my old shocks were collapsed. Its done so I can cross that one off and get back on the mustang heads.
