lowering rear of '69 f100

I have the flex-o-matic rear leaf springs on our '69 f100. What the best way to get a 2-4" drop out of it?? It seems to not be as easy as getting a set of drop shackles and putting them on. I am looking to level out the rear of the truck and naturally ...we're doing this on a budget. Whatcha think.....

Lowering/Lift blocks or if the axle is below the springs, put it on top of the springs.

Cut the rivets off of the front mount for the spring. Flip it over using 2 of the original mounting holes & drill 2 more. Use grade 8 bolts to bolt it back to the frame.

Check here for more info.
