Re: What it is worth? 68 f100

more than 50 bux no more than 1.2543M..... Now that said how are we to give an accurate answer with no known facts?

(rust,engin/trans, LWB-SWB, Step side Fleetside, interior, paint, glass, trim) THAT is one of those questions that falls under the "What kind of questions do you hate?" thread.

What do YOU want it to be worth? More than asking price? Or most you can get(if selling).

Very nice restored truck 8-12k as a wild guess, depending on how it was optioned and if everything is correct.

Can read the description now, but zero pics..... Not even a 'place' where they are "trying" to load....

With out pics cant really say, from description maybe an alright deal, depends on what the trade is, and money tied up on your side....

After all YOU are the only one that can actually say if/what its worth with a 'barter'...

i hope the picture loaded, my work PC doesnt always show pics.
Depends on if you want quick sale or if you are willing to wait a little for more cash. Assuming 2wd I would think somewhere around 2000 - 2500 for quick sale if nice driver and somewhere between 3000 and 4000 if you can wait for right buyer.
This is without seeing pictures. What kind of wheels? What shape is the bed in?
Orig paint? Orig int?

Truck may be worth more in parts if they are pretty solid.

Re: What it is worth? 68 f100

The only kicker here is the short box.

The truck is a $450 dollar truck any other day on craigslist, the short box makes it special.

Listen well, I've owned 5 of these beast in the last 10 years and never paid more than $500 for any of them.

Short box right off the bat is $1000 bucks. I have NO clue why, {because that's just THAT MANY more reasons you CANNOT use it. }

302 C4... I guess it's OK since the thing is just a baby truck and will never haul anything of note.

A little rust in floors means the weatherstripping and seals are gone in the cab.

That little rust in the floors likely means your cab mounts are going to need some rust work also. Very few Effies have good cab mounts due to poor drainage and lack of visible wash out points.

So if it run's Great, and the body is Straight, and the tranny performs well, I bet it's worth upwards of $2900 to $3400 bucks, to some foolish kid, but not more than about $950 to ME. Additionally; when he said someone offered $4500 I kind of think he was being shined on.

You asked I gave

Re: What it is worth? 68 f100

hey check out the pics FE, and the updated details in red.

FE please elaborate what u were saying in your post? short box? hauling? when they sold single cab short bed 2 wheel drive pickups. they weren't intended to be major haulers/work trucks. just used as utility/farm trucks and they look good doing it . yes if someone was looking for a 4wd large drive-line engine and bed. then $500 is what u would u would pay for, for something u weren't looking to buy.

FE i know u are probably spot on, but could u be more specific on it all?

thanks

Re: What it is worth? 68 f100

After seeing the pics and that it's actually in good condition I think $3200 or less is good for that. Go higher if you like it, it's purely a personal preference after that.

Pickups are made for hauling carp.. Normal pickups have an 8 foot bed. This works very well with the world.

You want a smaller truck for hauling crap AND saving FUEL. So you put up with the loss of haulage.

Buying a Full size truck with a not full size bed is silly as molasses on a pair of horse balls. Just don't make sense. Look what I got and guess what I'll never use it for kind of think, like the Yukon with the rock crawler rims and 40 inch tires that's never even been across a sidewalk...

SO I have a problem with short box pickups. BUT they are ALWAYS more pricey than a regular bed pickup because they're a more of a status symbol than utilitarian vehicle. And if that's not the reason slap my pecker with a broken perfume bottle if I'll ever understand...

Re: What it is worth? 68 f100

FE same reason the 2 dr cars usually bring more money than 4 dr versions of same car which most of the time can be had for less than the wagons of the same (BUT wagons have gotten hot as of late). The same holds true to the SWB trucks... Its the sportiness looking factor... No they wont haul as much crap, and the 2 dr cars normally wont either but the cost more money... Its the "cool" factor, not the practical factor....

I PREFER the SWB trucks, but have NEVER owned a SWB one usually due to the desirability driving the price up. All mine (and I have had quite a few trucks thru the years.

I take that back, I DID own 2 SWB trucks, one a 52 Dodge Step (all they built back then i think, and a POS to boot) and a '72 IHC 1110 that was big motored and short wide. ( an Implement co. had ORDERED it that way for what ever reason. Big 8 auto, fact air dual tanks etc but a short bed) rode like a frigging lumber wagon....

BUT to get back to the original post, FE is correct 32-3500 wouldnt be out of line as it is a sharp looking truck. If you want to give more to have it no more than 4k, if you plan on flipping it, as you will have to probably straighten a few things out to make it even more sell-able to the next person in line...

FE needs to gather up half a dozen of his CHEAPY trucks and ship them down here, he would NOT get hurt for sure, trucks sell great down here, specially the bump side fords, (not many passing around here any more... I know I have been looking for one for about 8-9 years now thats a cheap good buy after my '72 got totaled) ( I had given a whopping 600 for it, and it was the explorer xlt ver. wrinkled right front fender that I replaced but a nice truck after that little deal)

a fender and inner wheel well fender(also a aluminum intake manifold and a holly carb), im going back for a door or 2 and a radiator support. the bed has some rust. but u cant see it with out looking hard. once ive got all the rust free parts. im going to save up for a paint job. (jet black)

right now i bet its sitting at $2500 here in MO compared to trucks similar to this forsale around my area.

FE, MR anyone else. whats your thoughts on a truck like this with no body rust and new paint job worth?

i ask cause after all the above i plan to sell for a profit. thanks

Re: What it is worth? 68 f100

1 more time, at that price snag it up, if you have the funds. A good paint job in BLACK is gonna set ya back a little chunk tho (unless your able to do it yourself) and flip it. on a good day could bring 5k from some kid that has a hard on for it....
