Got the stereo wires taped down so I can still drive the truck before I get carpet

Re: 1973 Ford F250 Build Thread

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I got all the wiring fixed, battery connected, cranked it, andddd nothing. So then I went looking. Behind the fuel filter, bone dry. In front of the fuel filter, bone dry. Line to the carb, bone dry. Soooooo I think I'm out of gas. Dang.

Re: 1973 Ford F250 Build Thread

Well she started up very briefly by pouring gas straight into the carb. The mechanical fuel pump does not want to prime...at all. ARG. Well at least she ran and no smoke got let out of the wires. That means my wiring job was good.

Hopefully someone somewhere reads this, I hope I'm not just typing to see myself type.

LOL, lots of folks watching your build I'm sure. I'm in Morgan Hill, CA. We had a '71 F250 aka "The Screaming Yellow Zonker" back in the day. My mom still refers to that old truck as "The Zonker." Haha.

Re: 1973 Ford F250 Build Thread

So paint is started. First off I hit the striped area real rough like (I'm going to have to sand anyways, so rather than tape it I just roughed it in).

I have the grille all taped up and ready to avoid paint

I got bored

Re: 1973 Ford F250 Build Thread

Well I woke up to dirt on the blue stripe. So instead of getting to tape the stripe off I had to respray some of the stripe and hit it with clear coat. So no work done today

Re: 1973 Ford F250 Build Thread

Alright so here's the update on my painting spree. So I noticed there was some tape stuck on my truck....from god knows what. I hadn't realised that when I was spraying the stripe. I saw it today and this is what I found under it

here is a picture of the stripe masked off and ready to go

Hello whomever still reads this:

I am starting to lay down some paint. After one can of paint the bedside looked like this:

After two cans it looked like this

I got both bedsides done today, so thats at least cool. I'm hoping to have all the paint laid down by sunday, we will see how that goes.

Well it was supposed to be little sprinkles today, that was not the case. Massive downpours for the day. Ug. So long story short this is what I woke up to today
