Sorry if this is a "repost" I searched but couldn't find what I was looking for...

I'm putting a floor shifter in my '64 Falcon that previously had a column mounted shifter. I would like to replace the column with a column that doesn't have a shifter on it. Now it would seem to me that there wouldn't be a whole lot of Falcon columns out there without a shifter on the column. So if I can't find the Falcon column is there another column that would work, from a Mustang perhaps???

I found a steering column collar to replace mine and I was able to still use my original steering column that way.

I am not sure what years would work with your Falcon.

Maybe some guys with the more popular years can help.

All you need is the top collar from a mustang,64 to 66, with auto trans. They were all floor shifts, so no shift lever socket, and no gear indicator pointer. Check the Mustang parts places, you can even getum in chrome if you want.

If that's all you are worried about, while you are changing the collar just pull the shift tube out the top. 'Course you'll have to pull the column to get the shift lever out. (unless you use a "blue tip" wrench).
