I be bought a new high beam selector but still have no high beams. I’m assuming there’s going to be a loose wire to the highbeams but just wanted to reach out and see if somebody had dealt with that before.
thank you in advance

I use a multimeter/volt meter to test for battery voltage at the selector switch terminal, then out of the switch, and continue to the headlights, and the from the headlights to ground. Somewhere in the circuit the power or ground is lost.

You can see the power feed and selector switch at the top of this page: https://www.oldcarmanualproject.com/tOCMP/wiring/5765wiring diagrams/Ford/MWire5765-232.jpg
And the headlights and their grounds on this page: https://www.oldcarmanualproject.com/tOCMP/wiring/5765wiring diagrams/Ford/MWire5765-233.jpg

Hello 65 Galaxie 302,

The 1965 and 1966 (not sure about '67) have the firewall plugs which are problematic from loosening and corrosion. By 1968 Ford did away with the plugs and it's just a harness that passes through the firewall. However for the '65/'66 the front lamp harness is a plug and since high beams draw a decent amount of current it would be wise to check those plugs especially for melted sections due to high resistance and high current. Those plugs are located lower and to the left of the booster somewhat tucked behind the wheel apron.

Just thoughts.

Cheers
