I've received a few pm's asking about my car's new stance, suspension mod changes & results, tire clearances, etc, since my post on acquiring new wheels and tires. So I thought I'd post a few angle shots of my Gal I took yesterday at the Mystic Lake Casino car show near Shakopee, MN. It was a picture perfect day for a car show!

Your whole car looks like it sits higher than mine. I like it. I know why the back of mine isn't that high, even with 80-90psi in each shock! I have everything but the kitchen sink back there, tools, tire, impact 3 chairs, tp, paper plates, rubber chickens, rubber chicken masks, rubber squeaky pigs, some car parts, jumper box thingies... the list goes on. and trash I'm sure! I haven't totally cleaned it out since the last 3 trips to a Rod run here. We cruise up and down the street tossing rubber chickens to kids and some adults that feel they have to have one, and wearing our chicken hats and masks and squeaking toys. We don't normally just cruise up and down, we have fun! Best we did was late and we tossed a handful or two of little rubber chickens to the drunks in the patio area of the bar! Wholly molly that was some noise, people screaming and grabbing chickens. One ended up on the roof! ROFL So I go to Eugene Oregon for a cruise and show there and I hear someone in the crowd say something about "chicken car" and thought oops they know me from Long Beach WA. Found out later my nephew talked to the guy and he does go to that show also! Small world the car world is sometimes! :ROFLMAO:

Sorry bout the gabfest!! 😬

Great story Shot ! I had a good ole belly laugh imagining all those rubber chickens flying through the air, ha ! :ROFLMAO:

I suppose my past memories of how they looked was an influence on what height to put the car at back when I redid the springs.
Lower was already a thing, so yep some of my friends asked if it was a four by four now, and nowadays the lowered stance has, if anything, continued. But, wifey and I both (still) like it as-is.

We now have a little Fairlane convertible too, but I kept that one kinda stock height when I replaced it's springs.

Yep, those trunks hold a lot don't they.

Trunks are big for sure! Had a lot of adventures with that car in my lifetime! Some good, bad, legal not legal, loads of stories! Been thinking where does it go after me lately! Told my friends who all have GM cars but one was also a Ford person that I think I found it a home if my son can't take it and they were all like what?! Leave it with us as a group, we can take turns making sure it goes to shows etc. I laughed at them and said yeah, when you all go somewhere together it can continue to be the car that carries all the tools to fix those chevies! It's why they stay friends with me! LOL My thought was, i want it to go to someone that won't sell it or at least I believe they won't cause after I'm gone I won't know if they did or not! If I do, they will get haunted! 😁 After 48 yrs of owning it that would be hard for most to do and I'm actually lucky I managed it myself! But it becomes more like finding an adoptee for a kid then too!🙄:ROFLMAO:

Enjoy both your rides, they are to have fun in and make stories for later down the road! Unless it's ones you don't want the kids to hear til years later like my dad did with us! We could not believe the troublemaker he was before us and when we were really young!

Your 'afterlife' comments remind me of our similar talks here, among our friends as well. Most of us do not have anyone to carry on with them...
Currently, we are going through some landscaping work, so the driveway is pretty full from pallets of pavers, piles of stones, rocks and you name it. But hopefully we'll get them going yet -before the season is done. It does give me time to putz and do some stuff I would normally just do off-season.

Yes, some of our friends have some stories they share, since they are a bit older, and are mostly from here ...so we have lots to chuckle and eye-roll about, ha !

Have a nice upcoming weekend !

ps: We did get it out to one car show in mid-June, but then....it rained, ha !

havent driven ours to speak of this year...a month agowe were gonna go out by the graveyard, going into town it backfired and stalled, blew the muffler apart... drug it to side of the road, was able to bend the exploded shell over the park brake cable so we could lumber back home... in the driveway it stalled- that cars not stalled ever with a warm engine...knew it had to be ignition cutting out... touched the coil/distributor wire, it fell off...guess 60 yrs of heat cycling loosens them up... pinched it with a pair of pliers, pushed back on,and its fine... had to move everything out of the garage to use the lift, parked it out in the yard- we just had a ton of trees taken/stumps ground, so it looks like sitting in a minefield

My sister's '64 just started doing that backfiring. Then we had to short across to start it as the switch quit working which is probably why, even after it quit, it was backfiring like timing way off or getting fuel intermittently. It sits too much and haven't had it long. She needs to get both it and the Cougar out more so they can get to know the cars and see how they do before an event comes up and then try to go to it.

When i saw the picture i thought hmmm, chasing those mustangs off into the hills are ya?!! :ROFLMAO:
