radiator hose dress up

Anyone know what the stuff is that folks use to shine up the rubber radiator hoses? You see it at carshows all the time, where folks have heater hoses/radiator hoses that appear to have some coating over them to make 'em nice and shiney looking. Is it just silicone spray or something else? I know it's not amorall, since I tried that and it doesn't stay shiney. Maybe tire spray?

You can spray any tire shine product onto them and let it dry without wiping it off. A gel silicone works well also. Both will draw dust like a magnet.

Thanks for the input folks. Guess I should say that I too enter the carshows and that's the gist of my question. I got some of the tire shine product and put it on new heater hose that I put on today. Looks like whatever they do, it's multiple coats before it gets that high sheen.

Good points about the dust. I may try the pledge and see how that works.

Thanks all

Mike
