I have a 71 Maverick and I installing a 351W and will continue using my C4 transmission, what is the proper flywheel for this combination.

That depends partly on the bellhousing you have for the C4. If it's a V8 style bell, it will be for either 157 or 164-tooth (or the rare 141-tooth MII) and the flex plate would have to match that configuration. Second, the balance factor would have to match your 351W, which if stock, is 28 oz.

If your original/previous engine and trans were 302/C4, then you can just use your 302 flexplate as it has the correct balance if stock. If it was a different combo, please list what you have and we can outline what you'll need.

Which flexplate (flywheel for auto) you use depends completely on the bell housing on the transmission while the counter balance depends on the year or model - 351W all use the 28 ounce counter weight so all you have to worry about is whether you have a 164 tooth or the common 302 of 157 teeth.
