I was told I will need to run 6.8 BBC rods with the Scat 4.5 stroke crank? Can anyone confirm this, can anyone tell me if the rods will have to b modified to work. Who sells pistons for this combo?

ok this is my combo:

deckheight 10.315
stroke : 4.5
conrods: Oliver 6.7 BBC 2.200 inch journal
pistons: je with a 1.350 piston compression height

10.315 - 2.25(stroke) - 6.7 - 1.350 = 0.015 deck height

I'm not sure if the scat crank uses BBC sized jounals but the BBC jounal is 2.200 vs BBF at 2.5

I've not had to grind the stock block at all to allow for the crank/rod combo

hope this helps

Simon

Greg are the 6.8 rods your running H beam or I beam? can anyone tell me if Eagle sells a 6.8 I beam rod?

Yes, Eagle sells a 6.800" H beam rod. I have a new set in the garage. Need a set? Sell you these since I am not going to build a new motor at this time.
