Hello all! Just want to say this is my first time posting so I apologize for any redundant or dumb questions. What is the easiest and least expense way to get 400 or more HP out of this engine??? Thanks for your time!

If the motor is in good shape and not wore out (Still has 10:1 comp), Cam and Lifters (Comp Cams Extrem Energy or Lunati Voodoo) , Timing Chain, Performer RPM, 850 holley, Set of 1 3/4" headers, Good Ignition (I Like MSD) and some tuning will get you at or over 400hp.

Will need to Replace the Valve Springs too.

2V or 4V (venturi) was fords way of saying two barrel or 4 barrel carb..Actually the stock 4V intake works pretty good for making massive torque..The two motors also had different compression ratios..The 2V was 10.5 while the 4V was 11:1..Your cam choice will need to take this into account so you can run on pump gas without pinging..

Thunder Jet is the name for the Std 429's 360hp from the 60's-early 70's, next in line was the Cobra Jet (CJ) 370hp (Hyd Cam) and then the Super Cobra Jet (SCJ) 375hp (Solid Cam)

Nothing really special about one, but all ford 429/460 2 bolt block are equal and can take well over 700hp in racing trim. The SCJ's cam with 4 bolt mains and some (not common) CJ's did too.

The heads are small chamber, small Valve Passenger car heads and can support 600+ hp with large valves 2.25-1.76 and proper porting.

C9 would indicate its a 69 or possibly a 70 production engine.
