I think so, or damn close. I remember seeing a 63 frame and noting how similar it was to a 64 with minor differences. I've also read how a late model crown vic frame works good too, minor fabbing and shortening I think. The 62 ought to be close enough to work.

 

The 1962 is in a fleet of it's own. Also it matters on earlier ones if frame is for a police Int. and XL or standard one. The more -Luxo cars used heavier front end parts.

1960 thru 1963 frames are the same except for convertibles. It doesnt make any difference if its a 2 or 4 door.

 

what about 64 ?

63 and 64 are the same.Although you can fit with some altering 60-64.there are some differences in those years. Greg Donahue informed me that there are some big differences in some parts for my 62 that would not work with 63 and64.Forget now what exactly they were.That was 15 years ago.(lol).

 

64 frames are all by them selfs. The differents is in the way the core support bolts on. 63 are different because of the offset shafts for the lower control arms. I think 60-62 are the same. 6 cylinders and small block powered cars had lighter gauge metal in them.

 

When they rebodied the 62 lightweights with 63 bodies the front wheels were noticably forward in the wheelwell. IIRC the 63 bodies were offset one and a half inches farther back on the 62 frame.

 

I'm pretty sure the 62 has different body mount locations than 63 and newer. I know the body mount kit for a 63 won't fit on a 62 and nobody is reproducing a 62 body mount kit.

I will bet that the 64 an 62 frame differ greatly... The body styles are diffrent... wasn't the 62 a lot shorter or is that just a wheelbase thing?

But the back sides can't be too far off if you're needing a new rear frame section...

 

We had a '62 Police Interceptor and nothing on the front suspension interchanged with that of a 63 or later. Had to make most of the rotating parts.

Also had bigger holes for the rear spring loops. Used truck rubber there.
