Hey all,
So I found a set of DOVE-C's that have the intake ported to SCJ Specs and are sporting a set of VooDoo rollers. all the valves are new but the guy ran out of machine shop $$$ so the exhaust sides never got touched.
Personally I would have worked on cleaning up the exhaust sides 1st then worry about intake, but hey whatever it all works out for me and I walked away with these at bargin basement prices.
So my question is this, I've been looking around for some general specs & pictures on DIY DOVE exhaust porting but I haven't really found anything aside from the basic "Clean up the weird casting bumps for a measurable increase in flow".
I've ported a few sets of small block heads (289/302/351) but this would be my first time tackling a set of DOVEs. I have the general specs that they need to go to to match the SCJ exhaust ports (Exhaust ports are 2.25" x 1.30" rectangular oval port shape) but even the SCJ ports needed some work in order to get a good intake/exhaust flow going.
If anyone has any advice that would be great. I've searched here for articles as well as on 460ford.com but I'm drawing up a blank on the exhaust side.
My goal of this is to build another nice set of heads. I probably wont use them on my current motor as it's already been port matched/balanced and all that good stuff.
I'll probably use these heads on another 460 I'm building that as of now doesn't have a car to go into.
thanks guys!
