I was wondering if anyone knew of a company that made headers for a 1964 galaxie 500 with a 289?

Being a owner of a 64 with a 302 in it, to my knowledge ,they do not make headers for a 289/302 64 galaxie. I had a set of "patriot clipsters" which are short tube, for a 65-73 mustang. I had to buy mandrel u-bends and fab up my exhaust on the pass side because they dump straight out into the fire wall and I ran 3" exhaust. You may be able to bend 2 1/2 enough to work though. I now am running 'Hooker comp" full length headers for a 65-73 mustang. I had to do very slight(1/2 or less pucker) clearencing on the driver side engine frame mount. A couple love taps,to the frame mount, not the header, is all it took. Also because I am running 3" exhaust I had to fab a new trans cross member because of the exit piont but if you are running 2 1/2" you could should be able to get it bent to clear the cross member. I'll try to get some pics somtime soon.

You won't find direct applications from most header companies, but that doesn't mean there aren't headers to fit, but don't expect any header to go in with out some modification. I ended up with Flowtech 12100's in my car because I didn't want to wait for the first choice Hooker 6901's. These are Torino direct application, but that is only because that is a more popular vehicle.

Don't know if you are still searching but I have found a set that bolt right on and fit perfectly. I have a 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 (3 door sedan) with automatic transmission and no A/C. They are shorty headers but if you search for a promo code I picked these up for 135.20 shipped. I used promo code FB20.

I'm on my 3rd set trying and still no go, 91 F150 Headers stick out too far and hit the suspension, and the block hugger headers run into the motor mount on the driver's side (which could probably be fixed with an angle grinder), but hits the starter on the passenger side.

Giving Flashark a try now.

I have reviewed the Flashark headers on their website. The ones below fit my 64 289 AT without any issues. The look good and worked great make sure to search for coupon codes I got 25% of mine and paid less than 130.00 delivered.

They did indeed fit pretty well with minimal problem. There was some big flat thin shield on top of the driver's motor mount that had to be carved away a bit to clear, the passenger side has a spark plug wire that lays right up against it, and on both sides there's a bit of fiddling to figure out which bolts to tighten down first (some are tight enough that if the header is flush against the block you can't turn it.) Overall though, really good, especially for the price. A little tight against the body on the passenger side, but I feel like the exhaust shop can sort that out fine.
